Needless to say, I will not be returning and would rather camp in a Walmart parking lot.
Place was great quit clean campsites and bathrooms. Staff was nice store prices were cheap and they hosted a huge fire with music to dance. Fishing on the lake is great there are monster size bass right off the docs at camp. This is my new camping spot for the summer.
I should have paid more attention to the other reviews before staying at this campground, the obnoxiously loud music Saturday night was a deal breaker. I don't even send back a cold meal at a restaurant, but felt compelled to say something about the music. At 8:30 I walked to the trailer with the impromptu DJ booth and speakers and asked nicely if they could turn it down just a bit as I had a toddler trying to sleep. The owner of the trailer barely pulled the Michelob from his lips before glancing at the clock and muttering "ten o'clock"
I would not recommend this campground to a friend and tell them to stay away.
FROM THE BEGINNING THE STAFF WAS RUDE IT IS SO FITHY I WOULD NOT THET MY DOG IN THE BATHROOMS
The only good thing about this place is the cool campers but there are more rude ones than good ones. Speaking of rude, the owner made nasty comments to her customers on multiple occasions. Not only to us but to the other campers we were talking to. She also writes reviews, praising this hellhole of a campground and herself. All she cares about is the money and not the customer's welfare.
The management of this facility needs to make it very clear that they sanction this activity and warn campers ahead of time that they play extremely loud music on Saturday nights.
If you are looking for a "regular" campground, this is not it. This place is packed full of seasonal campers surrounded by junk. Looks like people live here. Bathrooms look like they were built out of scrap wood 20 years ago. None of the campground charm most people expect. The office staff, however was friendly and accommodating.
Luckily the girl at the computer overheard my request and obviously felt bad and turned it down to a dull roar, still louder than acceptable for most anybody trying to relax while camping. It finally shut down at 9:30.
This is, by far, the worst campground I've ever been in. The owner is an absolute douchbag and have many of her customers lip when they didn't do anything. Also, the bathrooms are a complete mess. There's bugs EVERYWHERE in all bathrooms and showers. One bathroom and one shower buildings are closed for renovations in late July. One of which was right next to my site and closed with a simple piece of wood. Another thing is that there is trash everywhere. There's a sign next to one of the only open bathrooms reading, "We don't litter in your house so don't litter here." Hmm, so bugs don't count?
The property itself is a nice location, but could be so much nicer with updating, better signage and a clean up of the random junk.
I made the reservation about a week in advance, the staff was super friendly and told us were we would be! Apon arrival with 4 kids they put us in a totally different site with no picnic table and no fire pit that stunk like a dirty bathroom! Then the staff ignorantly would not give us a different site! Never again the place is a dump! The sites have no privacy and the staff was rude! But hey you should check out hermit island camp ground for the same price you get privacy on the ocean! With clean bathrooms and friendly staff!
